The Hivery is hosting a summer night unlike anything we’ve done before.
Art, community, twinkle lights, good wine, live dance performance, and the kind of conversation that makes you feel more alive.
Here’s how the evening unfolds:
We open with movement. Two contemporary ballet dancers perform a live duet in The Hivery, right among us, close enough to feel it.
Then we slow down with wine. Elan Fayard, the woman behind Azur Wines in Napa, guides us through a sensory-enlivened tasting. She brings the same artistry to winemaking that Casey brings to dance, and you’ll feel that as you taste.
From there, we settle in for a conversation. Casey Thorne, choreographer, dancer, and founder of the Marin Dance Festival, joins me for a fireside chat about building something beautiful from scratch in our own community. We’ll talk about art, risk, creative vision, and why dance matters.
And then, to close the night, the dancers return. A second piece, or perhaps an open rehearsal, giving you a rare and intimate look at the work in progress before it hits the festival stage in September.
This evening is a fundraiser benefitting the Marin Dance Festival, which Grace is personally performing in this September. Every ticket is a direct investment in the production, the choreographers, and the culture that makes Marin such a special place to live and create.
